BEHOLDER is the first system that captures authorship at the moment it happens — on set, in the room, embedded in the pipeline. It listens, watches, and logs every human input and machine output that creates a creative work. It’s the black box of AI-native filmmaking.

Two-mode system: live capture + post-session AI interpreter. Multimodal, built to log everything that happens on-set or in the studio. To see everything. To remember everything. Because if you can’t prove authorship, you don’t own anything.

WHY BEHOLDER EXISTS

Because if you can’t prove authorship, you don’t own it.

AI-native production is moving fast. But no platform, no pipeline, no studio stack has yet answered the core legal and creative question:

who or what made this?

BEHOLDER is our answer. A system designed not just to log metadata — but to record human creative input as it happens, tie it to real outputs, and wrap it in a structure that stands up in court, in post, and in the marketplace.

HOW IT WORKS

LIVE MODE

BEHOLDER records everything.

  • UI events (Circle, Reset, BeatShift, Notes)

  • Voice notes and comms

  • Actor cues, flubs, direction

  • Camera, lens, tracker, timecode, audio

  • Every meaningful moment across crew roles

All captured and written as a dense, on-prem, air-gapped, cryptographic, signed event graph into raw machine and human readable .DAVE logs.

INTERPRETATION MODE

When the session ends, BEHOLDER AI gets to work.

  • It analyses the session cloud

  • Connects human inputs to captured media

  • Structures scene data, emotional beats, safety notes, technical state

  • Outputs a stack of department-ready .DAVE files for:

    • Editorial

    • VFX

    • Legal

    • Rights & royalties

    • AI model provenance

    • Royalty splits

    • Payment clearinghouse

BEHOLDER System Overview

BEHOLDER is a production-grade data capture and authorship verification system designed to operate across authorised client devices including PCs, tablets, and mobile units used during a creative session.

Upon session start, BEHOLDER initiates a system-level telemetry service that interfaces with the host operating system’s APIs to collect verified event data. This includes user input streams, software interactions, process metadata, device states, and linked peripheral activity.

Data capture operates strictly under permission-based access controls and user activation and within the scope of production consent policies defined by the user or studio.

All telemetry is written locally to an encrypted Session File, forming a comprehensive and immutable record of creative and technical actions taken during that capture window. No external transmission occurs until explicitly authorised.

Once a session concludes, the BEHOLDER AI Agent executes a post-process analysis of the recorded data. The agent performs multimodal interpretation across structured telemetry, communication logs, and creative artefacts to build a unified Session Database. This database forms the evidential layer linking human authorship, machine contributions, and technical provenance.

During compilation, BEHOLDER validates and associates:

  • Authorship and contribution data (per participant, tool, and system)

  • Source and derivative file references

  • Legal documentation, consent forms, and chain-of-custody records

  • Royalty allocations, routing tables, and rights metadata

  • Version control identifiers and cryptographic signatures

Once all validation keys and dependencies are resolved, BEHOLDER generates a Deliverables Package containing a complete set of .DAVE sidecar files. Each .DAVE file corresponds one-to-one with its related media or data asset, embedding first-mile provenance, authorship, and rights metadata.

These deliverables are designed to integrate with downstream production, legal, and distribution systems — including rights registries and C2PA-compliant manifest frameworks — ensuring that every creative asset leaving the session carries a verifiable, machine-readable record of its origin and lawful chain of creation.
